ESG Initiatives

Gala Yuzawa Co., Ltd., located in this blessed and abundant natural environment, will work to solve social issues through its Snow Resort business and contribute to the sustainable development of the local community. To that end, we aim to contribute to a richer and more sustainable society by actively working towards the 17 goals set forth in the SDGs.

Environment

To raise awareness of ESG among every employee at Gala Yuzawa Co., Ltd., we established the "ESG Promotion and Cost Management Committee," a cross-departmental organization, in October 2019 to more strongly promote ESG. Within this committee, we are carrying out activities centered on the 17 goals of the SDGs.

We are taking steps to help prevent global warming so that many customers can enjoy the rich natural environment and the unique charm of Japan's four seasons.
〇The material has been changed from paper to a material that uses no wood pulp at all, and is primarily made from inorganic materials such as limestone (calcium carbonate), making it gentle on forest and water resources.
Examples: Trail maps, business cards, some restaurant menus, etc.

Social

We strive to provide services that cater to the diverse needs of our customers, including those from overseas, and to create an environment and services that can be widely used by people of all ages, from children to the elderly and those with disabilities.
○ Multilingual signage throughout the building to provide clear and easy-to-understand information for visitors from various countries.
○ Promoting barrier-free access within the facility, including the installation of wheelchair ramps and multi-purpose restrooms accessible to wheelchair users.

Governance

JR East Group Compliance Consultation Desk

The JR East Group operates a compliance consultation service in accordance with the spirit of the Whistleblower Protection Act.
This contact point is for employees of the JR East Group to consult or report when they become aware of actions within the JR East Group that violate or may violate laws and regulations or corporate ethics. However, employees of companies that have business relationships with the JR East Group can also consult or report when they become aware of "reportable facts" as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 3 of the Whistleblower Protection Act within the JR East Group.
